About Me – 2010

How things change over the course of just a couple of years.

This time 2 years ago (2008) I was living in a caravan, albeit a very grand caravan, which was only ever meant to be temporary, until I retired, and could then move into a retirement apartment.  This I did on October 25th just gone, which happened to be exactly one week away from my 61st Birthday.

The (apartment) is of the studio kind. Meaning that the living room and bedroom area are in the same floor space, although the bedroom area has it’s own 3 walls and it’s only the front wall that is missing which is a walk in part of the living room.

It is designed as such that one can build a wall between and add a door way or as I have done make the whole wall sliding doors. (see left)

The view is stupendous and there is nothing between me and the sea.  To the front of me I am looking down onto the woods and to the right I have the view that you see in these images on the right. image

I am very lucky in as much as I have many family members living in and around the close surrounding area.  My Daughter, and at this point in time, future Son-in-Law live a short cycle ride away with my two Granddaughters of 17 and 12.  My Sister and grown Nephew and my Niece and her family live approximately the same distance away but in the opposite direction.  My company at home is Bayley, my little Dog of 12 years old.

I am not an out and about type of person but prefer to be snug at home unless I am going somewhere special.  Therefore my computer is mostly my company and since finding blogging and message boards I spend a great deal of time on here.  My blog is mainly for any rubbish that pops into my head at the time.  It could be about my own life or many times, something that has wound me up that I have seen in the news.

Up until now I have only posted good things with the emphasis on the bright side of life.  But I don’t always feel bright.  Sometimes I just feel plain miserable, lonely or bored, so if you read my blog then on occasion you will see the grumpy side of me.
